No Kings 3: Empowering Nonviolent Resistance

📣 Why No Kings 3

If you’re wondering why we’re doing No Kings again, it’s because we’re still working on growing our people power. According to Political Science professor Erica Chenoweth, no government has withstood a challenge from a nonviolent, active resistance movement involving at least 3.5% of its population. If you’re wondering if you matter, the answer is yes. When millions of water droplets come together, it can turn into a whole sea. Let’s get outside, join together, and make some waves 🌊

Weather report for looks nice for Saturday morning

Sign up online and bring a friend! If you know someone who is interested, but isn’t sure about protesting- ask them to drive by Ridgecrest & China Lake Blvd at Noon so they can see for themselves what the atmosphere is like. After they see for themselves, they might be surprised and decide to park and join us.

The lineup

🎤 We’re going to wake up our senses with poetry and spoken word.

🧠 Our minds will be enriched with a couple short speeches on “Imperial Presidency” by a History and Political Science Professor and “Guarding our mental health in times of unpredictable leadership and high stress” by a Clinical Psychologist.

💬 We will have moving testimony from someone who has been inside the Cal-City ICE facility and expand our empathy with a talk on “The cult of MAGA and how we break through.”

✊We will stand up for our rights with, “Privacy is not a Privilege.” Covering the topics of the surveillance economy and the lack of guardrails surrounding Ai.

🔥 And lastly, before we march, we will kick the energy into high gear by reviewing the signs of Fascism and major events Trump has inflicted on our country over the last year.

🚶‍♀️ March Details

The full march is 2 miles. If you’re unable to walk the full length but can do 1/3rd of a mile, you can join the march in be beginning but instead cross the street east on Ridgecrest Blvd instead of going north. We will have a marshal assigned to lead that group straight to our protest corner. Alternatively, you can also go straight to the corner of Ridgecrest & China Lake Blvd at 11:30am.

FAQs

  • Can I bring my dog? Yes, people did last time and had a great time

  • Should I bring my children? It depends, use your judgement as parents.
  • Will there be food vendors? No, but there is fast food and stores in the shopping center where you can grab a snack.
