No Kings 3: Know Your Rights

🗓️ No Kings 3

We’re officially less than 2 weeks away from the #NoKingsRidgecrest event on March 28th at Freedom Park. We have taken in your feedback from our last No Kings event and will be having shorter talks and have more personal stories to share.

We will have a wide variety of things planned for the day to meet the interests of our very diverse group: poetry, personal testimonies, a couple short lectures, and then we march!

When we arrive at the corner of Ridgecrest and China Lake Blvd, we will be welcomed with live music.

🤝 Interested in volunteering at the event?

We’re looking for volunteers to assist with holding one of our 12 coordinated signs displaying the “Signs of Fascism” for our march. We are also looking for a couple more marshals. To sign up, reply to this email.

🙏 Thank you again for being part of the NO KINGS movement.
Don’t forget to make and bring signs, water, and a snack.

⚓Base Employees

🙋🙋‍♂️There is a line civil servants need to walk to stay out of trouble. The Hatch Act is the main general guideline that one needs to follow. Basically, you are restricted from political activity while on government property and while on the clock. You still have 1st amendment rights and can’t be fired for using your constitutional rights. However, if you’re an SES level or higher, you cannot participate as it is harder to disassociate your position and influence.

⚖️ There is an additional balancing act for those who have a security clearance.  You can’t be fired for using your 1st amendment rights, but you could lose your security clearance if there is a conflict of interests that could impact national security.  If you’re a base employee and are feeling conflicted about your job and the war in Iran, consider reaching out to the DONCEAP representative who can help you unpack emotions you may be feeling in a constructive manner.  You owe it to yourself to take a breather. ✊ Help the resistance

If you’d like to support our organization, we’re doing merch sales this year and have a GoFundMe.  Ridgecrest 50501 works in coordination with Ridgecrest United on big events.  We would like to invite other groups to join our coalition to make a difference in Ridgecrest.

2026 campaigns: DeFlock Ridgecrest (on-going), Districts 20 & 23 House candidates Meet & Greet (May), Get-out-the-vote (Primary & Mid-term), and Fall from Freedom art show (October).

50501 is a big tent made up of conservatives and liberals against authoritarianism/Trump.  After our mission to impeach Trump and restore checks & balances, it will be the responsibility of other groups to bring their policies to the table with our representatives.  Help us get there, and together we can save our democracy.
