Food drive ideas: Rice-a-roni, Cup of noodles, pasta, canned protein (tuna, chicken, beef stew), granola bars, cans of nuts, boxed cookies & crackers, dried fruits, beef jerky, mac & cheese, single serving cups of fruit & pudding, & oatmeal packets.
Our Key Topic Lineup for the Townhall
- 🚨Our safety is being compromised: Flock’s cameras have documented security and hardware vulnerabilities.
- 🧠♾️Our lives are being turned into training data—forever: Section 4.3 of the contract gives Flock perpetual, unlimited rights to the images collected in Ridgecrest. That means pictures of our movements, our routines, and our whereabouts can be used indefinitely to train their AI.
- 🔁⚠️Our images can be shared with anyone Flock chooses: Section 5.3 allows Flock the rights to share our images at their discretion.
- 🚩⚖️Even the city attorney raised red flags—and was ignored: The city attorney requested changes to the contract, but none of those protections made it into the version that was signed. That means Ridgecrest knowingly moved forward with a contract that our own legal counsel found problematic.
- 🙅♂️Flock shifts blame onto cities for sharing data: Flock claims that nationwide image sharing only happens because cities “enable” it—but their system design is confusing “1:1 sharing” terminology make misuse almost inevitable.
- 📜❌Missing search justifications violate California law: Records show blank entries explaining why Ridgecrest Police Department is using Flock. Under California law, these justifications are required. Skipping them isn’t a technicality—it’s a legal and ethical failure.
- 🏠🚫Private property rights were ignored: Public Works installed poles outside the public easement, onto private property, without proper permits—and even signed forms on behalf of property owners. That’s not just careless; it’s a violation of basic constitutional protections.
- 🤷Flock can’t even keep RPD’s info safe: Flock sent an email apologizing after Ridgecrest Police Department’s information was shared improperly. And we’re still expected to trust this company?
