🚨 ICE Out for Good

ICE is out of control. DHS lied about the circumstances surrounding the 37-year-old mother of three who was shot and killed by ICE. She did not put any officer in harm’s way. There is video from several cell phones taken by protesters who captured the entire incident. The video shows that a car was stopped and two ICE officers approached both sides of her car. When she appeared to be startled and drive away, both officers were still standing at the sides of the vehicle, she was not charging them—but then one of them shot her dead. 💔

⏳ We are also protesting the ICE facility in Cal City. There have now been two public hearings regarding the facility’s permit. A decision by the powers that be will be made soon. Let’s show Cal City and the people of Ridgecrest that we disapprove of ICE.

🏛️ City Council Recap

We had a win at the City Council meeting on Wednesday evening. After our public comments, the Mayor requested that the Chief host a town hall regarding Flock, and he agreed to do so. We had a good conversation with the Chief after the meeting, and he welcomes people to bring evidence concerning Flock to the town hall. The Chief would prefer that concerns be framed as they relate specifically to Ridgecrest.

🌎 Venezuela

• A president of another country was abducted
• There was no attempt to obtain Congressional approval
• There is no coalition of other countries supporting this invasion
• Maduro was removed, but the same governing body remains in power
• 100 deaths have been reported

This is the kind of executive overreach that threatens our Democratic Republic. ⚖️ Rep. Fong does not seem to care that Trump and his cabinet chose to circumvent Congress.

🗳️ We need elected officials who represent the people and care about the office. Their job is not to surrender all of their rights and responsibilities to the Executive Branch.
