Need for Training

🎓This training is always important but possibly even more so now.  At the last protest, some of you on the SE side of the corner may have noticed a new person standing all by himself. He showed up for 15 minutes, took a selfie, and then left.  He is not one of us.  He posted on Facebook’s “WTF is going on in Ridgecrest” page a manufactured story that he has infiltrated our operations. I’ve never spoken to him before and the intel he claims to have gathered is also inaccurate.  I have sent the PD information regarding this potential problem person.  At the moment, he hasn’t really done anything to harm us; so the best action we can take right now is to become more knowledgeable about protecting ourselves.

👮I’d like to remind everyone that the gazebo is right next to City Hall and the Police Department.  It would be stupid for anyone to show up there during the speaking part of our No King’s event.

We have also not encountered any violence during our biweekly protests.  The worst we have seen were Nazi salutes between February-March when Elon “made it cool.” People usually yell from their cars and people doing burnouts, but no one one has approached us on foot with aggression.

On the same day as the Parade of 1,000 Flags, we encountered our most aggravated group of motorists we have seen in a while.  Some asshole outfitted his vehicle with a loud speaker and attempted to instigate us by telling us, “Donald Trump is your president.” Yes, president– not dictator, not king.  We have 1st amendment rights to free speech and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.  We will not bow down and worship their false idol.

LFG? We need Volunteers!

🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️We do need more volunteers helping with the event.  Please email me and attend the October 4th protest if you’re able to help on the 18th.  We still need help with:

  • 2 people bringing water to the event
  • 3 people setting up chairs at Freedom Park
  • 1 person for posting flyers the week before
  • 4 more people willing to be peacekeepers

Meet the Candidates

👩‍💼👨‍💼On Saturday October 4th, there will be an opportunity to meet candidates running against Rep. Fong.  Patrick Robb will be joining us at the protest from 9-11am. We will also have Sandra Van Scotter joining us at the sign making event at the California Welcome Center meeting room from 2-4pm.

Fairgrounds

🗳️Our Register to Vote booth was also approved for the fair!  This will be our best opportunity to meet people who are not registered and help them.  I want to be clear, we are there non-partisan and will help all eligible people get registered to vote.  We have been approached by conservatives while protesting who have admitted that they voted for Trump but they do not like the way he is doing things.  Trump’s approval rating is down to the lowest it has ever been across his terms and compared to all other presidents.  Everyone who is eligible to vote needs to be able to cast their vote.  The deadline to register and receive a ballot by mail for the upcoming election is 10/20, so the fair 10-17 to 10/19 is perfect timing for getting those last people registered.

Go Team!

🙌Our group is getting more organized and we had a successful fundraiser to support our campaigns. I’m am overwhelmed by the generosity people have shared and momentum we have gained with making our goals happen. Thank you 💙

We have a busy October ahead of us, but we can do it!
