🗳️There have been more survey responses and important topics that I feel we need to address.

I protested during BLM and my sign said, “Demilitarize, Deescalate.” I stand by that today for both sides. We may be bringing a strongly worded letter to a knife fight, but any step taken from our side that could be perceived as aggressive will be met by force. We need to just be an immovable object and our greatest strength is non-violence.

📰 Big cities with large number of progressives can act more aggressively does help move the needle in a positive direction for our fight because it drives headlines and awareness. The police focus on crowd control in those situations and not arresting individual people. We can not carryout this out in a red and rural town because we don’t have the safety in numbers here. If we hold the line as non-violent, the police have no choice but to see that MAGAts are the problem if any conflict were to break out. Our mission in the provinces is to change hearts and minds and welcome people to our side. Non-violent campaigns are twice as successful and have 4x the amount of participation compared to violent protests (BBC article.) When our side grows in numbers, we have power in voting.

🚫I do not advocate for buying guns as home protection. Get a security system, cameras, a solid core door for your bedroom with a deadbolt, have the police on your side, and maybe get a dog before buying a gun. If you still can’t sleep at night, shotguns are the best deterrence. I’ve spoken to a marine about guns before who told me that the first time he was under fire, he froze. He was trained to shoot back at people and he still couldn’t bring himself to kill another person in that first moment. Will you be able to without hesitation? If you have a gun, you’ve escalated the situation to an irreversible point where the person has no choice but to act on fight or flight. Statistics show guns in your home are more likely to be used against you (sources: NIH, Stanford Med, and RIG.)

I don’t believe we have anything to fear concerning home invasions in this town. There is no one here high profile enough that it would make sense for MAGAts to take on the risk of getting arrested or shot themselves.
