🔔Gov. Newsom has entered the ring to fight against the executive overreach. Trump told Texas to redraw the map because they’re entitled 5 more seats. Apparently it’s ok that certain people are entitled to things. 🤔Wonder what the qualifications are..

🚨The Governor hitting back by proposing a temporary redrawn map for California to equalize the seats stolen from Texas democrats. If we allow Texas to rig the electoral map without pushing back- what is to stop every other Republican state from doing the same? It’s time to say, “enough of this bullshit!” 💢We’ve already watched the Republicans’ unfairly stack the Supreme Court and we’ve seen what happens when Trump controls the House and Senate. We can’t let the GOP gerrymandering go unchecked. We’ll play fair when they play fair.

⏳ Time is running out. We we need to set aside principals before we lose our democracy. We can not allow for the erosion of checks and balances. We need to get out the vote to combat the authoritarian acceleration and breakthrough.

Please make signs for the next protest to encourage people to vote with the registertovote.ca.gov info.

Survey Results

  • Most people are concerned with 1) lack of checks & balances 2) the national guard being deployed, 3) raising prices
  • We have 4 volunteers who have offered to help get people registered to vote. I will be reaching out to those people to those people once we have permission from a venue. We are in touch with the farmers market coordinator, but she has indicated that we have some hoops we need to jump through. We are still working this. I have also sent an email to the fair organizer to see if we can have a registration booth there.
  • 5 people indicated “maybe” for being a small group leader. I will be reaching out to those people to coordinate.
  • ‼️Everyone who responded to the survey indicated that they are either yes or maybe interested in participating in a small group
  • There was interest in de-escalation training:
  • People want to do community service. This is great! Let’s start with helping people get registered to vote and then in November we can work with organizations in our community to see how we can help. I’ll be asking for volunteers to spearhead this activity.

📣Time to get Organized

Last weekend, my husband and I attended a meeting in Sacramento where 150 group leaders attended representing 77 Indivisible groups across California. It was an amazing opportunity to be able to meet other leaders, talk about the challenges we are facing and strategies they are using, get additional training, and network with other people in red and rural districts.

✔️We learned about other tools to help our group grow, set goals, and get better organized. I have now created a dashboard using Slack. It offers a place for people to post messages in the forums, create documents, and track tasking. The main page will allow everyone to ask questions, contribute to brainstorming, and have a place to chat in our community. I have set up channels for big projects which will be locked down to the team members who are working on those topics. Membership access will be vetted, please attend the protest to sign up. I would like to attach a name, face, to each email address that I grant access to.

We have big plans ahead for the next national mass protest, get-out-the-vote, and a townhall. We need your help to make this happen. 🙌

👀 Save the date for Saturday 10/18. Announcements to come.
